I would say order a size up so it's comfortable over clothes. We got caught in the rain ALL day at a Lacrosse tournament last weekend and this baby kept me completely dry. I was very happy I sized up because it even kept my butt dry. I am a 14 and L/XL in women's clothes and I ordered an XL. Plenty roomy. The quality of the fabric is soft and not "plastic" like some rain gear. My friend liked it so much, she ordered one too!
