Sweet N Swag was born in 2014, by our Founder Shannon, but not in the way a company or brand typically begins. A good friend of Shannon's unexpectedly lost her baby boy. This tragedy moved her to try and help in some small way. Unsure what she could do but knowing she needed to do something. She made over 200 bows and bow ties to raise funds that would offset funeral expenses. Even though she sold a lot, she still felt discouraged that ALL the bows did not sell. What God did with the 'leftovers' has been truly remarkable. Sweet N Swag, and it's founders, have received more good in return than anyone ever could have imagined. Sweet N Swag grew from there and continues to grow. We went from handmade bows and bow-ties being sold on Etsy to our Mox shoe line and matching accessories, sold on our very own website. We will always remember how and why we started: To Do Good. We continue to try and do that by donating shoes to new-born intensive care units across the country, sending shoes to Africa, homeless shelters, and oncology units. Each time we give, we receive so much more. In July 2017, Shannon was diagnosed with an aggressive & "incurable" brain cancer. The prognosis was not good and she wasn’t given much hope. Luckily, we believe in miracles. The miracles began to happen almost immediately. As Shannon and her family tried to process this horrific news, they immediately began to feel the love and support from our Sweet N Swag community. Letters, emails, messages, thoughts and prayers began flooding in. Those miracles, and our community, made a profound impression on Shannon, her family, and our Sweet N Swag team. Sweet N Swag also allowed Shannon and her family to completely focus on healing, as her husband was able to leave his law practice and be home full time. During this time is when our sister company, Papillon Bebe, came to be. This knits line, for mama and baby, was Shannon's gift to her community. Each piece was beautifully and thoughtfully designed; no detail overlooked. Our beloved Shannon passed away in 2021. It's our goal to carry on Shannon's legacy through Sweet N Swag and her desires to Do Good.
