Football can be a truly uniting activity. Whether you’re enjoying it for the game, the commercials, the half-time show or the food—the big game is a crowd-pleaser for folks of all ages and interests. We’ve put together a guide for you to host your own ultimate big game party, whether that means inviting over your friends or just your immediate family.
Set The Stage
The big game food spread is arguably the most fun part of the game. It’s something everyone can agree on at least, right? So make it festive with the right pieces. Like this official NFL cutting board to lay out your spread with a little team spirit.
Get The Menu
The key to a good football game menu is variety, a little something for everyone. We picked a classic cheese tray, buffalo chicken dip and a “candy charcuterie” board.
Start with a classic cheese tray. Pick up a couple different kinds of cheese, salami, sausage, pepperoni, pickles, crackers and nuts. There’s no wrong way to set up a cheese plate, but you can really get creative here. Try arranging it to look like a goal post, football or other iconic design. If all else fails, laying it out nicely on a cutting board is always a classic arrangement.
You can’t have a game party without a warm dip for chips. We picked a buffalo chicken dip. Here’s the recipe we used.
For our final dish, we created a “candy charcuterie” board. The best thing about this idea is you can use any cookies or candies you personally love. Look for candies in the same colors as the team you’re supporting or just go classic with chocolates or “grass” green-colored sugary treats.
