We are thrilled to announce that our VP of People Operations, Scott Rafferty, has been selected as one of Utah Business magazine’s 2021 HR Achievement award honorees. This award honors those individuals who are changing the way we hire, develop, nurture, and retain the best talent. 

Scott views People Operations as the tip of the spear in helping any company to execute on strategy and achieve its goals. He believes that everything starts with people, culture, and leadership. Working from this premise, he has spent the past 2.5 years at Jane ensuring the company has the right people, and that they are engaged and fulfilled, working with great managers and leaders who help them do their best work. 

2020 was a hard year for retail and businesses as the pandemic disrupted office life. Yet Scott helped Jane succeed by leading our People Operations department to help employees adapt to remote working, devising new programs that provided distance support and implementing fun activities via Zoom for employees to keep morale high.

Scott also guided the Jane team through a year that marked the new normal of a society dealing with social injustice. Jane’s response was additional training on how to become a more diverse and inclusive marketplace and workplace. Under his leadership, the company now recognizes Juneteenth and Martin Luther King Day as company-wide holidays, combined with a service opportunity for all Jane employees to increase Jane’s commitment to its community. 

As Jane continues its international expansion, Scott is committed to celebrating and expanding diversity and inclusion in the workforce and in so doing, enriching the talent at Jane. Scott is passionate about supporting women in business and is proud that management is composed of 55.5% women at Jane. In addition, 50% of the company’s senior leadership team is either female or BIPOC. 

Scott seeks to lead from a place of empathy and dignity. His People Operations team is obsessed with delivering amazing employee experiences that produce the outcomes that the business needs.
