Who doesn’t love a relaxing bath after a long day? And who doesn’t love bath salts? They’re easy to make, endlessly customizable and can turn an ordinary bath into the best bath you’ve ever taken.
Speaking of easy to make, we’ve put together a DIY guide to bath salts so you can transform bath time anytime.
Here’s what you need:
½ cup of epsom salt
½ cup of rock salt
20 drops of at least one essential oil
Mix a ½ cup of epsom salt and a ½ cup of rock salt in a jar.
Add 20 drops of your favorite essential oil and shake well.
Add a spoonful to your bath and relax!
You don’t have to stick to just one essential oil. Feel free to use several. (Just make sure the scents complement each other.)
Avoid oils that can irritate the skin. Here’s a handy list of oils to avoid and oils to use.
Having trouble deciding which essential oils to pick? Rose, lavender, lemon — there’s many amazing aromas, and they all have different benefits. Whether you’re looking to sleep better, have more energy or something else, there’s an oil for that. Think about what you want from your bath and pick an essential oil that will help. One spoonful not doing it for you? It’s okay to use extra bath salt in your bath. You can always make more!
