Hey, Beautiful! Yes, you! How are you doing? Really, we want to know. We’re living through unprecedented times, and although we’re all wishing for more precedented times, the best we can do is stay strong and carry on. We’ve put together some tips for taking care of yourself and giving yourself the self-love you deserve.
Take a break from social media.
Social media can be an amazing tool, but it can become toxic if you’re not careful. Are you overly focused on your follower count? Are you finding yourself posting because you think you have to, rather than because you want to? Are you spending too much time scrolling through your endless feed? If you’re experiencing any of these things, you may need a break.
Here’s how to make cutting that cord easier:
– Delete your social media apps so you’re less tempted to look.
– Log out of social media sessions when you’re done, that way, you can’t just pick right up where you left off.
– Designate a time of day to look at social media and stick to it.
Get some sun.
When was the last time you went outside? Spending time outdoors helps reduce stress and fatigue and helps you feel happier. So go out there and get some sunshine!
Give yourself a spa day.
Feeling good physically can help you feel good mentally too! Relax in a bubble bath, try out some new perfumes and lotions or give yourself a good mani and pedi.
Move for at least 30 minutes a day.
We all know exercise is good for us, but did you know exercise doesn’t always have to be a full-on high impact workout? It can be as simple as a lunchtime stroll, walking your dog or having a fun living room dance party. Getting at least 30 minutes of exercise, no matter what type of exercise, is beneficial to your mental and physical health.
Don’t be afraid to say “no.”
Who else needed to hear this? Are you someone who is always taking on extra work, putting everyone else first or simply forgetting to take care of yourself? You don’t have to please everyone all the time. If you’re constantly stressed or overworked, don’t be afraid to say “no.”
You’ve truly earned a treat. Everyone needs a little spoiling every now and then. Indulge in your favorite dessert, take yourself out to a fancy dinner, buy that pretty new outfit you’ve been eyeing. Then, start working towards your next goal.
