If we were to put money on any of these recipes, it would be these bad boys.

  • 1/2 cup hazelnuts (roasted and peeled)
  • 1 cup pitted dates
  • 1 tbsp water
  • 1 tbsp coconut oil
  • coconut flakes
  • ⅓ cocoa powder (plus a little extra to roll the balls in)
  • ⅓ cup rolled oats
  • ¼ cup your choice of nuts (we like cashews, almonds or walnuts)
  • *protein powder (optional)
  • almond butter (any other nut butter works as well!)
  • 1 tsp Grade A maple syrup

Lay the hazelnuts out on a baking sheet and put them in an oven heated to 375º F for 10 minutes. Once done, pull them out and let them completely cool. Then rub the hazelnuts between your hands to get the skins off. (Sorry, this part can be a patience-tester.)

Pour the hazelnuts into a food processor, and blend until they become a powder (just be sure not to over-blend into a butter-like consistency)! Pit the dates and drop them into a food processor along with the water and coconut oil, blending together until smooth. Then simply add the rest of the ingredients and combine in the food processor. From there, you can add in or leave out whatever you’d like! This is the perfect recipe to experiment with.

Once the paste is exactly how you want it to be, spoon it out and roll it into little balls. Then roll these balls over coconut flakes or cacao powder, set them in a Tupperware dish and keep them chilled in the fridge. Enjoy!
