Family ties make up the foundation of this boutique, but there’s a lot more about them you might not know… but we’ll let them fill in the blanks. Without further adieu, the lovely RubyClaire Boutique!

What is the story behind RubyClaire Boutique?

Almost three years ago four sisters and our parents decided to really test our strength as a family and go into business together running a women’s clothing boutique! Something I don’t think any of us ever planned to do as we were growing up and dreaming of our futures! But it just so happened that our unique and individual talents merged together perfectly to form a successful company! We are so lucky to have a businessman, an office manager, a couple of style gurus, a photographer, and a marketing and money-minded person all in our immediate family!

How did you come up with the name?

One of the sisters recently had a baby about 3 months prior to starting our boutique, and her name was Claire Ruby. In discussing names, we felt like it would be special to have a family namesake, and chose to go with RubyClaire!

How long have you been running RubyClaire Boutique?

We launched our website on November 21, 2013, so just about 2.5 years!

How long have you been selling on Jane.com?

We had actually been selling with Jane.com a couple of months before even launching our website. It was the first thing we did to help us start our business!

What was your first deal on Jane.com?

Our Jane.com history doesn’t even go back far enough to see our first deal! But one of our earlier deals was our Indie Inspired Tunic, and it was a success!

How has selling on Jane.com affected RubyClaire Boutique?

Selling on Jane.com has provided us a way to immediately create a profit while trying to expand our new and growing business! It has been instrumental to our success, and to our ability to grow our own boutique!

On average, how many deals do you run on Jane.com in a given week?

We can run anywhere from 15-30 deals a week, depending on the quantities we have available in each deal.

What do you love most about being a seller on Jane.com?

Selling with Jane.com is extremely easy and they make it easy for you to learn through their webinars, and online vendor portal with tutorials and guides to help you get started. They want their sellers to be successful, and they try their best to make that happen!

What has been the biggest challenge and how did you overcome it?

Our biggest challenge initially was figuring out what items to buy that would become a success! We had some real hits and some real misses at first, but the longer we do it, the easier it becomes to know what items will be winners with Jane.com’s followers!

The other challenge we face on a daily basis is the learning curve to starting a new business! There are so many things to learn as you start out, and with the way things are constantly changing in the e-commerce world, it is important to continually learn! We are constantly taking e-courses, listening to webinars and podcasts, and talking to those who have “been there, done that” to help us to become better as a business, and as business owners.

What has been your biggest success as a business owner?

Our biggest success has been working together as a family and still loving each other! We have learned to tackle our obstacles together, without letting them come between us.

If you could give new sellers 3-5 tips of advice what would they be?

  • Start out cautiously. Run a small amount of deals at minimum quantities until you figure out what works and what doesn’t.
  • If you are going to run a deal with high quantities, make sure you are prepared for the shipping time and costs!
  • Have great customer service! A satisfied customer is a returning customer!
  • Have good photography. Excellent photos will sell your items!
  • Enjoy what you do!

What is the story behind The While Wolf Boutique?

As a college student, I noticed a girl looking around on Jane.com and I inquired about the website. After speaking with her, the businessman in me thought, I could sell on Jane. Since then, I have been selling on Jane for 2 years strong and The White Wolf Boutique has grown into something that has been very fun, successful, and rewarding.

How did you come up with the name?

If one understands anything about a pack of wolves, they know that the white wolf is the leader of the pack and will dominate the kill. Or in our case, will dominate the sale.

How long have you been running The White Wolf Boutique?

The White Wolf Boutique has been in business for 2 years.

How long have you been selling on Jane?

We have been selling on Jane for 2 years.

What was your first deal on Jane?

The first deal we had on Jane was chevron rings. It did really well and made us want to continue to sell on Jane and try more products!

How has selling on Jane.com affected The White Wolf Boutique?

It has affected us in every positive way we can think of. It has helped us expand into something we never expected and we can’t wait to see where it continues to take us.

On average, how many deals do you run on Jane in a given week?

On a given week, we run 10 deals.

What do you love most about being a seller on Jane?

Jane is very user friendly, the support team is easy to work with, their website and our website integrate well with each other, and they make it a fun company to do business with.

What has been the biggest challenge and how did you overcome it?

The biggest challenge we overcame was our shipping technique. We finally got a better system going to ship goods to our customers and keep them happy.

What has been your biggest success as a business owner?

The biggest success we’ve found is hiring employees that we trust to help run our business. They have helped us find many of the successful products we sell on Jane.

If you could give new sellers 3-5 tips of advice what would they be?

The best advice we can give is:

  • Find trustworthy employees
  • Think outside of the box for new, innovative ideas
  • Strive for the best customer service possible—happy customers are return customers
  • Don’t get discouraged if products don’t do well
  • Have fun with it!

Persistence coupled with a dash of ambition was the recipe to CoziBear’s success! Read their story and fall in love with their company!

What is the story behind Cozibear Boutique?

The business started as a way to make a little extra money by creating handmade beanies and other crocheted items after our son was born. After doing that for a while we decided to see if we could get approved for a deal on Jane.com to try and sell clothing. After some failed attempts we were finally approved for a deal and have been selling clothing ever since.

How did you come up with the name?

CoziBear actually came from quite a few people. We were brainstorming and trying to come up with something cute and fun that described the handmade items, and it just stuck with us.

CoziBear Boutique has been in business since December 2011.

We have been selling on jane since June 2013.

How has selling on Jane.com affected CoziBear Boutique?

Selling on Jane has formed CoziBear into what it is today. We are rapidly growing and expanding into new products and categories all the time. It’s so exciting.

On average, how many deals do you run on Jane in a given week?

We do approximately 44 deals per week.

What do you love most about being a seller on Jane?

We love how Jane has allowed us to grow with them and help us reach such a large volume of customers. We also love that Jane has very strong leadership within the company.

What has been the biggest challenge and how did you overcome it?

Our biggest challenge was finding a great photographer. We overcame it by simply continuing to try new photographers until we found the right person.

What has been your biggest success as a business owner?

Being able to build our business enough to give careers to not only us but to other people working for us as well.

If you could give new sellers 3-5 tips of advice what would they be?

  1. Find a great photographer! Images are one of the most important pieces to a great deal.
  2. Find good people to help with your business. It’s too much work to do everything on your own so don’t be afraid to let people help you.
  3. Take the time to research products and pricing. Don’t be afraid to negotiate with suppliers to get the best possible prices.
  4. Do your best to get orders shipped out as quickly and accurately as possible. Happy customers are repeat customers.
  5. Provide great customer service. You probably won’t be able to make everyone happy but that shouldn’t keep you from trying.
